RICHARD SAWLEWICZ With deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved father, Richard Sawlewicz, on June 25, 2007 at 82 years of age. Richard will be forever remembered by his children, Steve, Wanda (Norm) and Regina (Arnie). Dad is also survived by his two brothers in Poland and friends in Canada and Australia. Richard was born in Wilno, Poland to Stanislaw and Alesandra. Dad was the eldest of four brothers. He met his beloved Giena while they were both serving with the Royal Air Force in England. Dad immigrated to Australia in 1948. Giena followed soon thereafter. They married in Hobart in 1951 and settled down. Mom passed away in 1967 and Dad moved his young family to Winnipeg in 1968. Dad provided for and supported his family through various jobs. He was later employed as an airframe mechanic with Bristol Aerospace, retiring after 18 years in 1995. Dad's interests included fishing, photography, stamp collecting and most notably being very well informed about world issues. After retirement Dad enjoyed volunteering at the Western Canadian Aviation Museum. An independent senior, his family was most important to him. He will be sadly missed by his children, Aunty Vala, friends, and colleagues at S.P.K. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 29 at 9:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
